Data, purposes and legal bases

Browsing and security: infrastructure may process IP address, date and time, requested URLs, user agent and technical information to deliver pages, prevent abuse and resolve errors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in website availability and security (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), respecting visitors’ rights. The language cookie remembers the user’s choice and is a technical tool under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.

Voluntary contact: when you email the controller, your email address, any name you provide and message content are processed to answer you. Legal basis: precontractual measures at your request where applicable (Article 6(1)(b)); otherwise legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Article 6(1)(f)). Statutory obligations rely on Article 6(1)(c). Do not send sensitive or unnecessary data.

There are no accounts, newsletters, behavioural advertising, browsing analytics or automated decisions, including profiling. The site does not request your GPS location: coordinates refer to weather stations.

Services and recipients

People authorised to operate the site and infrastructure and email providers may process data needed for their tasks, according to their actual roles and applicable agreements. Authorities may receive data where legally required. Data is not publicly disclosed for commercial purposes.

Direct browser requests to www.meteopine.altervista.org and api.open-meteo.com disclose IP address and connection metadata to those services. Maps retrieve tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org when they enter the visible part of the page; this service also receives IP address and technical data. Your personal location is not sent.

Weather network links open external sites only when selected. Fonts are served by this website, without browser requests to Google Fonts. Iubenda is no longer loaded.

Retention and provision of data

The actual retention periods for logs and correspondence are listed below. Any longer retention must be limited to legal obligations or the defence of rights in a dispute, for as long as necessary.

Connection data is necessary to deliver the website. Sending an email is optional; without relevant information and a reply address it may be impossible to respond. Deleting the language cookie does not prevent access.

Your rights

Where Articles 15–22 GDPR apply, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Use the privacy contact to exercise your rights. A response is normally provided within one month; any justified extension is communicated within the time limits of Article 12 GDPR.

You may complain to the Italian Garante (www.garanteprivacy.it) or the competent authority where you habitually reside, work or where an alleged infringement occurred, and seek a judicial remedy.

Hosting and infrastructure
Vercel Inc. — hosting, CDN, funzioni server
Email service
Google — Gmail
Technical log retention
Vercel’s visible runtime log retention depends on the active plan: 1 hour (Hobby), 1 day (Pro), 3 days (Enterprise), up to 30 days with Observability Plus. These limits concern runtime logs, not all provider security data. Vercel retains other data under its privacy notice based on service and security needs, legal duties and defence of rights. Any log export service requires a separate assessment.
Email request retention
Emails are retained as long as needed to handle and close the request and related follow-up obligations, then must be deleted unless legal duties or a dispute require further retention. The criterion is the continuing purpose, not the lifetime of the Gmail account. Gmail does not automatically delete ordinary mail after a fixed period: the controller must perform deletion.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Vercel Inc. also processes data in the United States and through its subprocessors. Its Data Processing Addendum sets out safeguards and European Commission standard contractual clauses for applicable transfers. Google may process correspondence on international infrastructure; its transfer documentation explains adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses it uses. External services listed above also operate under their own notices. Applicable details and safeguards are available through the references below or on request to the controller. Data is not assumed to remain exclusively in the EU.
